The Sakura Brewery of Japan had an odd an interesting trip through history. Beginning life as Teikoku Beer company in 1912 the company was renamed after its most popular brand, Sakura Beer, in 1929 and continued as a company until 1943 when they merged with Dai Nippon. This vintage Sakura Beer poster is from 1921. The art has been modified (much of the original background was removed, including a quite lovely mountain scape) in order to make the main image look better on a shirt. Touched up and color enhanced, this is a beautiful shirt and a real conversation starter for fans of beer, japanese beer or japanese culture. Printed direct-to-garment using water-based inks, the Sakura Beer shirt is not a screen print or a transfer, but more of a giclee print on a 100% ring-spun cotton shirt. Available in two colors, Tan and Dark Chocolate Brown. Also available in ladies sizes on request.
