The Aku Aku was a Polynesian restaurant inside the Stardust casino, at the north end of the Las Vegas strip. The restaurant opened in 1960, and closed in 1980. and really almost nothing cool has happened on that end of the Strip since. Out in front of the entrance to the building were two giant Moai statues, one of which remains in Sunset Park in Las Vegas today
. This image on the shirt is actually a combination of two things, one is an image from part of a drink menu we foind, the other is a logo from a different menu. So, I suppose you could say the by combining these elements this is a somewhat original design. The artwork was traced electronically and enhanced to allow for better reproduction.
